Dear Field-Map users, dear colleagues,

Since 2006 IFER have been holding the bi-annual Field-Map International User’s Conference that brings together current and perspective Field-Map Users from many parts of the world. This autumn IFER is pleased to invite you to the 5th Conference aimed at sharing experience and process applications, exhibiting current research topics and results, gaining knowledge of technology capabilities and improvements in a collaborative discussion.

IFER Staff members will present the cutting edge technologies and latest developments in software and hardware for on-ground field data collection operations and further post processing. Each user attending is encouraged to present their research project carried out with Field-Map and propose future capabilities which they would like to see in Field-Map.

The conference will gather both users and developers of Field-Map Technology for three days.

Conference fee is 180 EUR and includes accommodation (Penzion Onyx, www.penzion-ubytovani-lednice.cz), meals, conference refreshments & drinks, and a field excursion.

The Conference itself will take place at the Multifunctional Centre of the beautiful Lednice Chateau (www.zamek-lednice.info/en).

If you are interested in participating in this event please contact Ms. Zuzana Exnerova (zuzana.exnerova@ifer.cz) by the end of June - your active involvement in the form of presenting a paper on your working experience with Field-Map would be highly appreciated.

Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape

The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape is spread over the site of a mighty 12th century border castle. Today it is the home of a romantic château, a picturesque village and in particular a jewel of landscape architecture of unprecedented proportions.

The notional milestone at the beginning of the long period of development of this whole area is the end of the 14th century, when the Liechtenstein family obtained a share of the land. The current area, measuring almost 300 km2, is the result of landscaping based on English parks, and thanks to this baroque architecture meets the neo-gothic château and small follies in the romantic style.

The Ledice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, as one of the treasures of UNESCOs World Cultural Heritage, was inscribed in its list in 1996.

Between the 17th and 20th centuries the ruling Dukes of Liechtenstein transformed their domains into one huge park, where the baroque and neo-gothic architecture of their chateaux are married with smaller buildings and a landscape that was fashioned according to the English principles of landscape architecture.
